A Scranton teen faces a felony for an alleged domestic abuse incident.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy investigated an assault at 8:29pm Thursday in the 600 block of Locust Street in Scranton. Chief Deputy Nathaniel Chapman tells Raccoon Valley Radio the alleged assailant, 18-year-old Joseph Ray Thompson, made the call to the law enforcement center about the incident.

The report shows the incident started as a verbal argument between Thompson and the male victim, which then turned physical. Chapman says the victim suffered injuries from the struggle and a witness also backed up the claims. The victim was taken to the Greene County Medical Center by his parents for his injuries.

Thompson was arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury. He was booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
