The Panora Chamber of Commerce reminds the public of their “Shop Local, Eat Local, Bank Local” promotion happening today.
Several Chamber businesses will be open for extended hours and offering discounts, treats, and other activities as a way to encourage the public to support local establishments that had to cut their hours or even temporarily close their doors because of COVID-19. Retail Committee Member Kristin Rumelhart says some ways to support local businesses while social distancing at home include “liking,” following, and sharing businesses’ social media pages, “Other options are to purchase gift cards to our local businesses, and also take a look at the Chamber website where we have many businesses listed as well as how to get onto their websites so you can do some shopping from home. And it’s also not just businesses with store fronts, keep in mind we also have like Cyclone pest control, health consultants, we’ve got different chiropractors in the area, and more.”
The Chamber points out that several retail businesses are happy to schedule appointments for customers to shop alone in order to protect themselves and others from the risk of contracting COVID-19.
