The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District is bringing in a new system of student recognition, which will replace their existing “Wall of Fame” at the middle school.
The School Board approved a contract with Touch Pro at their most recent meeting, through which they will digitize all of their student records and accomplishments from previous years. The information will be available online and in person through a 65-inch touchscreen in the middle school commons. Superintendent Greg Dufoe notes the system will cost around $21,000, and is being paid for through partnerships with the various ADM booster clubs and the Alumni Association. He says many districts around the nation have similar systems, and ADM was galvanized into creating their own with the deterioration of the current pictures on the “Wall of Fame” and the fact they’ve run out of room.
Dufoe says the Touch Pro system will be all-encompassing for student achievements, and he’s excited to bring it to the community. “Really we’ll work to feature students across all spectrums. Academics, athletics, fine arts, (and) alumni through presentations of our yearbooks. It’s just going to be a great system, so we’re fortunate to be able to partner with these entities and be able to launch this year!”
Dufoe adds, the plan to is to get all the records digitized this summer and unveil the touchscreen display when school starts in the fall. To learn more about this and other ADM topics, listen to today’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program on air and at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
