The AC/GC baseball team has two juniors who are looking to fill some big shoes on the bump this season.
Last year despite having a very young varsity team, two seniors led the way on the mound. Of the 28 games played by AC/GC, half of them were started by seniors who graduated last spring. Seemingly the next two in line for the Chargers are juniors Clayton Wardyn and Eli Kading who accounted for nine starts and 33 innings pitched in 2019. Wardyn showed flashes of being able to be the number one pitchers for AC/GC as he earned a 2-3 record and led the entire team with a 5.58 ERA. Senior Bryce Littler will also need to make strides from the mound as he was the Chargers best option from the bullpen last season throwing seven strikeouts to just nine walks throughout 8.7 innings.
Opening day for AC/GC will be Monday when they make the trip to square off against WCAC foe Woodward-Granger.
