The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.

The meeting began with discussion of payroll change notices, which in addition to the regular set also included pay increases for the next fiscal year. The Board had issues with salary exceptions proposed by the Secondary Roads and Treasurer’s departments, and wanted more time to discuss them before approval. They did approve the remainder of the notices as presented. Next, they approved a change order of $1,048 from CL Carroll and Company for the Ortonville Lagoon demolition project, which involved removing the concrete path around the area. The Supervisors then gave direction to Operations Director Rob Tietz to deposit the funds from the sale of vacant Roads Department buildings into the general fund, which will be allocated elsewhere in the future.

Following that, the Board approved an engineering consultant contract with WHKS and Company, related to work to be done on County Road P46 through Dawson, and set a public hearing for June 23rd at 9:30 a.m. for a telephone line easement on the Raccoon River Valley Trail. Other items approved included: a 28E agreement with Central Iowa Workforce Development, Region 11; an event request from the Iowa Prayer Caucus Network; the appointment of Lina Tucker-Reinders to the County Board of Health; and providing $5,000 to the Mid-Iowa Development Fund. The meeting concluded with receipt of the post election audit certificate, and approval of the canvass for the recent primary election.
