The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
During open forum, Greene County Real Estate and Tax Coordinator Pam Olerich told the Supervisors about a Cooper resident asking to take ownership of alleys and property adjacent to his property, since he is maintaining them. Olerich said she didn’t find previous records that said the alleys were vacated and owned by someone else. The Board agreed to move forward on the process of turning ownership over to the resident.
Supervisor Chair John Muir then read an email from Cooper resident Chris Henning urging support against a legislative bill that restricts mailing ballots for upcoming elections, as it is opposed by the Iowa County Auditor’s Association. No action was taken by the Board.
Next, the Board heard an update from Jefferson City Administrator Mike Palmer. He updated the Board on the project stages of various downtown buildings the City owns.
The Board then approved the County Recorder’s report of fees for May of $15,797 and the County Treasurer’s investment and driver’s license report for February-May as presented. Additionally, the Board approved Nyhart Company for actuarial services for post-employment benefits for $3,100, 28E articles of agreement for combining three workforce regions into one with a main chair and two co-chairs for the combined regions, and an installation agreement with SCI Communications for network cabling of the Greene County Courthouse for $81,740.
Finally, there was no change from last Tuesday’s primary election results, following the canvass of votes by the Supervisors.
