A series of severe thunderstorms rolled through parts of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area early Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for eastern Dallas County at 4:33am. The storm was located in Dallas Center and was moving toward Adel at 30-miles-per-hour. The warning expired right before 5am. A second thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service at 4:53am for southeastern Adair County and it expired at 5:30am. Hazards with both storms included cloud-to-ground lightning, high winds and heavy rainfall.

Three Raccoon Valley Radio staff and weatherology provided live Severe Weather Action Team coverage until the thunderstorm warnings expired. Raccoon Valley Radio is the one to count on for severe weather coverage.
