A Guthrie Center woman who was given a deferred judgment for a felony forgery offense in Guthrie County last October faces new charges from Adair County.

According to the criminal complaint, an Adair County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted initiating a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Payton Allyssa Hill at about 10:23 p.m. on May 23rd on Division Street south of Interstate 80 in Stuart. Hill then allegedly increased speed and failed to stop while law enforcement’s lights and sirens were activated. Hill’s vehicle was eventually stopped, and she admitted to the deputy that there was marijuana in a backpack in the vehicle, which was located. Law enforcement also found a prescription medication that didn’t belong to Hill, and drug paraphernalia.

Hill was arrested and released on her own recognizance from the Adair County Jail. She’s charged with eluding, a class D felony; unlawful possession of a prescription drug and possession of a controlled substance first offense, both serious misdemeanors; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
