For the last few months, the Perry Public Library has been offering curbside material checkout as they’ve been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Until now, the library has not required the books, DVD’s, and CD’s to be returned, as they’ve been assessing the safest way to retrieve the materials and ensure they’re free of viral germs. The system is now in place, and starting June 1st patrons can start returning items. There will be marked collection receptacles stationed just outside the east door to the library from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturdays. One container will be for books, and the other for more fragile audiovisual materials.
Even with the outdoor dropoff location, patrons are still advised to practice social distancing with others making returns, and are reminded that the building is still closed. Items returned will be quarantined for several days and thoroughly cleaned before being reshelved and available for checkout once again. The curbside delivery service will also continue during normal hours while the library facility remains closed. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact the library at 515-465-3569.
