Two Guthrie County Jail inmates face an additional charge for a fight that allegedly occurred Thursday evening.
The criminal complaint shows that a Guthrie County Sheriff’s Deputy was walking into the Sheriff’s Office to start his shift at about 7 p.m. when a dispatcher was heard yelling at inmates telling them to “knock it off.” The deputy and another were then requested to enter the bull pen for a fight between two inmates. There was blood all over the floor, and one of the inmates, 21-year-old Tristan Jacob Edwards of Stuart had blood on his face, clothing, hands, and suffered a one-inch long laceration on the top of his head. The other inmate, 21-year-old Noah James Wardlow of Corning had some blood on him but no injuries.
Surveillance video showed that Wardlow left the bullpen table going into his own cell, and later stuck out his head to say something to Edwards, who then entered Wardlow’s cell. The video then showed Edwards punching Wardlow several times, and they were split up by another inmate until the Ddeputies arrived. Edwards and Wardlow were separated into different rooms and are both being charged with disorderly conduct, a simple misdemeanor.
Edwards is in custody on charges of second degree sexual abuse, a class B felony, and two counts of incest, a class D felony; and Wardlow is facing a charge of first degree theft, a class C felony. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
