The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.

The Council approved the 2020 fiscal year budget amendments as presented, following a public hearing on the topic. They also approved hiring Mark Wolterman as a patrol officer with a starting salary of $42,554, a resolution of support for a workforce housing tax credit for a possible White House Apartment project at 215 South Wilson Avenue to rehab the building into 12 apartments. Additionally, the Council approved an economic development agreement with Sebolt Wrestling Academy for a $150,000, ten year forgivable loan for renovations to the former Jefferson Fieldhouse. 

Finally, the Council heard an update from Jefferson Matters: Main Street. They talked about the merger with the Jefferson Area Chamber and having interviews soon for the new full time director position. JMMS Director Peg Raney officially retired on May 1st.
