The Greene County Sheriff’s Office broke up an alleged underage drinking party in Rippey over the weekend.

According to a report, the sheriff and several deputies responded to a complaint of an underage party at 11:56pm Friday in the 500 block of 3rd Street in Rippey. Law enforcement found ten juveniles under the age of 18 and were charged with possession of alcohol underage and a department of public health violation. Nine individuals ages 18-20 also face the same charges.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio 38-year-old Charity Snavely of Rippey admitted to being the host of the party and she was additionally charged with supplying alcohol to persons under the legal age and permit under 18 to consume alcohol on property. Snavely has already pled guilty to the simple misdemeanor of the public health violation.

Due to the governor’s public health emergency proclamation, any social gathering of over ten people is prohibited. The juveniles were transported to the law enforcement center and released to their parents. Their charges will be referred to juvenile court and the 18-38 year-olds were arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail.
