If you are looking for some fun outdoor entertainment, and to learn something at the same time, there is an interactive map of Greene County available.
The Greene County Conservation Department and the Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce partnered to develop an online map of some outdoor historical sites and other activities across the County. Conservation Director Dan Towers says the map was intended to be a self-guided tour for a small group of people in a single vehicle, but due to COVID-19 and small group restrictions, that isn’t allowed. However, Towers points out individuals can use it to go sightseeing themselves. He describes some points of interest on the map.
“It included most of our watchable wildlife (with) eagle nests, waterfowl migration – that’s kind of seasonal – pioneer cemeteries, just places they could go and look at historical things. Those are all included in the interactive tour.”
