As we approach Memorial Day weekend, the Dallas County Health Department encourages people to get outdoors for their emotional and physical wellbeing. However, they advise people to still continue social distancing while doing so.
DCHD Health Navigator Ann Cochran emphasizes that the COVID-19 spread is still active in the county. With that in mind, she encourages people to keep their gatherings small and to keep a good distance between themselves and other groups enjoying the weekend. “The thing you have to keep in mind is, this is not a time that you should be mixing with big crowds of other people. It’s not a time for you to go to a crowded venue (or) to invite a whole bunch of other families over to your house. That’s a good way for us to get right back into the bad situation with a lot of COVID new cases starting up again. So enjoy the time, get out with your family, but don’t mingle with a lot of other people.”
