With the 2020 football schedules official, we’re breaking down each week of the Panorama football season.
In week two for Panorama they’ll have a chance to win a rare rubber match. The Panthers played Clarinda each of the last two seasons with both teams picking up a win on the road. With this years schedule not abiding by the typical format the state usually follows in having a team play the same teams for two years, flipping the home game site, this will give each team an unusual opportunity to win a true rubber match since they might not play a fourth consecutive game next season. Clarinda won this matchup in 2018 in a nail biter in Panora 28-27.
Each team improved heading into 2019, but the leap Panorama made was clear when they went to Clarinda and took down the Cardinals 33-3. The Panther defense dominated holding the Cardinals to 116 total yards and one field goal to show for it. Clarinda will need to find a better plan to stop Panorama’s Dominic Walker who was the teams leading passer and rusher in this game last season.
This game is on the calendar for Friday, September 4th in Clarinda.
