Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has announced that she’s lifting many of the social distancing guidelines caused by COVID-19 around the state, but the Dallas County Health Department reminds people the virus is still a threat.
While people may be anxious to get to hair salons and local restaurants on Friday, they’re advised to exercise caution. DCHD Health Navigator Ann Cochran emphasizes that the best way to curb the spread of coronavirus has been the same since the beginning of the pandemic. “Probably the number one thing is, if you feel sick please stay home; not just for your own sake, but for all the rest of us. We don’t want you out running around — in the grocery store, or going to your place of work, or church or whatever — if you are symptomatic, because you’re probably contagious and the rest of us don’t want to be exposed to that. So that’s a really important part: personal responsibility. If you’re sick, stay home.”
Cochran adds, people are still encouraged to wear masks when going to places where there may be a lot of people, and to wash their hands frequently.
