Time is running out for those wanting to vote by absentee ballot by mail.

According to the Greene County Auditor’s Office, the final day to have an absentee ballot sent by mail is this Friday. As of last Friday, the Auditor’s office reports of the 1,143 absentee ballots that have been sent out, 466 have been received. Voters are reminded that absentee ballots can be either mailed to the auditor’s office or dropped off in the drop box near the east door of the Greene County Courthouse in Jefferson.

Those wanting to vote on Election Day, June 2nd, will be limited to only two polling locations. Voters in the central, east, north and west precincts will vote in Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson and those in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Jefferson precincts will vote at the Greene County Middle School gym in Jefferson.

The auditor’s office encourages everyone to vote by absentee ballot. Early voting is taking place in the east lobby of the courthouse. You can vote anytime between 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday and from 7am-3pm Saturday, May 30th. Anyone with questions can contact the auditor’s office at 515-386-5680.
