There have been some recent changes made to the state’s COVID-19 website.
Greene County Public Health Director Becky Wolf says the website now has four main dashboards including current cases, Test Iowa assessments, Regional Medical Coordination Center and long-term care. Wolf notes each category provides county-related information, such as the Test Iowa assessment dashboard.
“How many residents in Greene County have gone on to TestIowa.org and completed the assessment. It will assess whether you can get tested or not, whether you’re eligible, and also they will remain in contact with you periodically because it’s really a great way to take a pulse of the influence of the illness around the state that way.”
Wolf explains that the new website features real-time reporting of information, which can include some fluctuating numbers.
“Let’s say, for example, that in Greene County we have someone who got tested (for COVID-19) and they were assigned to our county based on their address that was written on the test information. Well then when we go into check it further we find out that the person actually has a different address that is out of county.”
Wolf adds, the information provided to the website is more timely and is subject to change as the Iowa Department of Public Health receives it.
