The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors formally accepted County Auditor Marci McClellan’s resignation at their meeting Tuesday.
McClellan submitted her resignation last week effective immediately, citing health issues. The Board then approved a motion to fill the vacant position by appointment rather than a special election, and then approved appointing Deputy Auditor Dani Fink to serve in the position until the November general election. The public will have 14 days after notice of Fink’s appointment is published to petition for a special election. The Supervisors also approved a resolution to sign contracts for patching County Road P28, or Wagon Road, discussed budget amendments for the Transfer Station, Attorney’s and Sheriff’s Offices, and Secondary Roads Department, and possibilities for reopening the courthouse to the public, for which no action was taken.
