With the football schedules now official, we thought we’d take the time and break down each of the matchups you can count on this fall for Panorama.
Coming off an 8-2 season that ended just a few yards shy of taking down the defending state runner-ups in Dike New-Hartford in the playoffs, the Panthers will waste no time in getting to that playoff atmosphere. Their week one opponent is a familiar one in Des Moines Christian. Both teams went 8-1 in the regular season last year will have high expectations heading into the season. The last time these two WCAC foes met on the gridiron, DMC rolled to a 49-0 victory in Panora. The Lions were successful in avenging a 34-14 loss to Panorama the year prior. The Panorama football team has had it’s ups and downs over the last decade, but now in the third season under Head Coach Mike Kauzlarich the ship appears to be heading in the right direction that way.
Fortunately for Panorama, much of the fire power for DMC from a year ago have will have graduated since the 2019 season. The Lions will have to replace their leading passer, rusher, and receiver who will each have to fill big shoes in a hurry to keep up with the Panthers. Week one of the 2020 football season is slated for Friday, August 28th.
