The positive tests for COVID-19 in Dallas County have crossed the 700 case threshold as of Monday, with 25 new occurrences reported by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
There have now been 701 people in Dallas County to contract coronavirus, which includes six deaths and 236 fully recovered. Along with the new positive cases, on Monday the IDPH also reported a new outbreak at a local elder care facility. Six individuals at the Rowley Masonic Community in Perry have now tested positive for the virus. Elsewhere in Dallas County, there have been 12 cases at Pearl Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing in Perry, 44 at Granger Nursing and Rehabilitation, and 18 at Arbor Springs in West Des Moines. Also in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area, there were two new cases reported in Guthrie County, for a total of 36, with no deaths and 14 recovered. Greene and Adair counties had no new cases Monday and remain at 13 and 3, respectively.
Statewide, there are now 12,373 confirmed COVID-19 cases, as well as 271 deaths and 5,249 recovered. The IDPH reports that 1-in-40 Iowans have been tested to date, with 1-in-252 testing positive.
