The Hy-Vee store in Perry is offering a free sweet and healthy treat to the community this Tuesday, with limited social contact.

On May 12th from 1-3 p.m., the grocery store will be giving away free mangos while supplies last. Volunteers will be set up in the former ShopKo parking lot, and people can drive through to receive the fruit. There are no strings attached, but the fruit is limited to one per person. Additionally, Perry Hy-Vee Community Involvement Director Larry Vodenik is requesting anyone who can help with the give away to contact him. All volunteers will need to wear their own masks.

The Hy-Vee corporation is offering similar giveaways around the state, as they attempt in their own way to help those in need of food assistance. For more information including how to volunteer, email Vodenik at 1522hrmgr@hy-vee.com.
