Nursing home staff in Dallas County are encouraged to attend one of two local COVID-19 testing events, which are happening tomorrow and Saturday.
The Iowa Department of Public Health is partnering with the Iowa National Guard for what they’re calling Testing Strike Teams. Anyone who works in a Dallas County nursing home can set up an appointment for Friday or Saturday, with the testing to be done at the fairgrounds in Adel. The program is supported by the long-term care testing initiative the state is rolling out, in an effort to keep the virus away from the most susceptible individuals in the population. Friday’s testing will run from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday’s from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The IDPH points out that the Testing Strike Team is not a function of the Test Iowa initiative, and people will have to set up appointments with their staff directly. For more information or to make an appointment, contact Amy McCoy at amy.mccoy@idph.iowa.gov.
