The Iowa Department of Public Health announced Wednesday there were 293 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, and locally the numbers were the lowest they’ve been in a week.
Of the new positive tests, 13 were reported in Dallas County, and one in Guthrie County. There are now 626 occurrences of coronavirus in Dallas, with three deaths, 236 recovered, and a total of 2,056 tested. Guthrie has 32 positive cases, with no deaths, five recovered, and 198 tested. The statewide number of positive cases is now at 10,404, with 52,767 negative tests, 414 currently hospitalized, and 3,803 patients fully recovered. At this time, around 1-in-50 Iowans have been tested. The IDPH also announced Wednesday there were 12 additional deaths caused by COVID-19, bringing the total in Iowa to 219. The reported casualties were all over 61-years-old, and were from Black Hawk, Clayton, Jasper, Linn, Marshall, Muscatine, Polk, and Woodbury counties.
