The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.

The meeting began with an update on the law enforcement center project, which is expected to be wrapped up and turned over to the County by the end of May. The Board also approved the 27th pay application in the amount of $347,005.88 to seven contractors. Next, they approved the 2020 weed notice as presented by Weed Commissioner Jim Uthe, as well as a property tax suspension for a homeowner in Adel. At 9:30 a.m. there was a public hearing for the final plat of Mill Creek Outback – a 25-acre plot to remain zoned A-2 (agricultural) with a small subdivision. With no objections from the public, the Supervisors approved the plat.

Following that, the Board held discussion but took no action on the fiscal year 2021 health plan renewal, as well as bids for automatic door installation at the Auditor’s building. They then approved amendments to the janitorial contracts with Midwest Janitorial Services and Denise Cox, which were initially approved last week. The meeting concluded with further discussion on the farm lease with DMACC and the location for the Woodward recycling container, though the Supervisors took no action on either item.
