There has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 among the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office personnel, with a jail employee recently testing positive.
Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the employee is currently doing well and will return to work at a later date. He says the other Sheriff’s Office employees are doing a good job of following the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Iowa Department of Public Health. Leonard adds, every case they handle internally will be dealt with on an individual basis with the assistance of the IDPH.
There are currently over 500 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Dallas County, and the Governor’s social distancing proclamation will remain in effect for the County through at least May 15th.
