A new coffee shop has opened in Adel, which is suited to provide service in spite of the ongoing closures due to coronavirus.

The Morning Grind is located just south of the downtown square on the corner of Nile Kinnick Drive and Prairie Street, and offers drive-through service. Makayla and Andrew Putz opened the cafe in what once was a dry cleaner business which sat vacant on Highway 169 for years. They felt it was an ideal locale for busy commuters who need a quick pick-me-up in the morning. Like the rest of Dallas County the shop is restricted to offering drive-through services, though they will eventually include inside dining and patio seating.

The hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 5:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., and from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. on weekends. They offer espresso drinks, coffee, baked goods, and breakfast sandwiches, with plans for a limited lunch menu on the way.
