It was with a heavy heart that Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard announced Friday that the 12th annual All-Wheel Car Show has been cancelled.

The show, which raises funds for the Iowa Special Olympics, was scheduled to be held June 6th around the courthouse in Adel. However, due to ongoing uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus outbreak in the County, Leonard decided to preemptively pull the plug on the affair. Details on whether the car show will be rescheduled are unknown at this time, or if the Sheriff will host a different fundraiser this year.

Leonard has said in the past that the All-Wheel Car Show is one of his favorite days every year, especially because of his passion for supporting the Special Olympics athletes. It’s with that in mind he says while the decision to cancel the event was difficult, he feels it was the right call to protect the health of all involved.
