The Greene County School Board met in special session Wednesday night.
The Board approved a resolution for the COVID-19 pandemic response and an emergency suspension of board policies. Part of the resolution waives high school graduation requirements from the state level including speech at the district level, hourly and non-exempt employees will continue to receive pandemic pay and the district will continue to utilize voluntary education enrichment opportunities for students.
The Board also approved a coaching matrix and made some coaching changes due to the matrix. The matrix is a guidance to know how many coaches there should be per sport depending on the number of students that go out for that sport. The coaching changes included the removal of Arianna Vargas as the ninth grade girls basketball coach and Mark Renslow as the assistant boys varsity basketball coach.
Finally, the Board approved 2020-2021 employment contracts including the teacher staff salaries with the negotiated agreement of 2.17-percent salary increase, the bus drivers with a two-percent pay increase, teacher leadership positions, coaching positions, classified staff and administrators.
