The identities of the two minor victims who died as a result of a single-vehicle wreck in rural Dallas County Tuesday morning have been released.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 8-year-old Lindsay Brown and 5-year-old Claire Brown, both of Perry, were killed in the crash. Claire was reported dead at the scene, and Lindsay died after being transported to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines by the Mercy One Air Ambulance. The report shows Claire was wearing a seatbelt and Lindsay was not. Another victim not wearing a seatbelt was 11-year-old Katelyn Brown of Perry, who was taken by Life Flight to Blank Children’s Hospital, though her condition is unknown at this time.

The four other occupants were each wearing seatbelts, including the driver, who was identified as 16-year-old Micheal Marie Crane of Perry. The other individuals who suffered injuries included 4-year-old Eli Brown of Perry, 11-year-old Randy Seratt of Dawson, and 5-year-old Carter West of Dawson. Each was taken to area hospitals, with injuries ranging from serious to life-threatening.

The State Patrol says the incident occurred at 11:29 a.m. Tuesday. The 2014 Toyota Sienna minivan was travelling northbound on Beaumont Place, between Dawson and Jamaica and just south of the Greene County line. After crossing the bridge over Greenbrier Creek, the vehicle swerved and went off the left side of the road. The driver overcorrected and went back over to the right side where the van struck a field entrance. The wreck is still under investigation.
