Even though the remainder of the school year, including all spring athletics, has been cancelled for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District, there are still ways for the community to show their “Tiger Pride.”
Each Friday night from now until the end of May the lights at the ADM football stadium and ball fields will be lit, and the public is invited to cruise Tiger Drive. Starting at 8:30 p.m. and running for the number of minutes representing the total number of school days missed due to the school closure, the community can “scoop the loop” near the high school and middle school complex. Each “Tiger Pride Drive” will have a theme, this week recognizing cancelled spring sports and activities. Students taking part are encouraged to deck their cars out to represent their missed activity. The weekly event will end with the ADM “boom” traditionally heard at home football games.
“Tiger Pride” yard signs and t-shirts are also available for sale. The signs are $16 each, with this Friday the last day to order. Pick up for the signs will be May 8th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the high school. The shirts are available through May 29th and cost $15 each, with free shipping available. Three dollars from each sign or t-shirt sold will be donated to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry in Adel, which serves much of southern and western Dallas County.
