Standout athlete Carter Morton talked about his Greene County High School athletic career with Raccoon Valley Radio. The senior was among the thousands in Iowa high schools who had COVID-19 take away their Spring sports season. Morton placed in multiple events in 2019 at the Class 2A State Track & Field Meet, was an All-State football player last Fall, and was first team all-conference in basketball as a senior.
He played baseball as a junior, but plans on bypassing that sport this year (if there is a season) to concentrate on preparing for a collegiate track & field career at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
Morton said, “Thank you to everyone who helped and supported me. I’m thankful for everything everyone has done to help me. I’m glad I was a Ram, and I’ll be a Ram forever!”
Carter’s Dad, Chad is the head boys’ track & field coach and an assistant football coach at Greene County HS, and his Mom, Deb, is a physical therapist. A younger brother, Jackson, is currently a high school sophomore.
