The Iowa Department of Public Health provided an update to the COVID-19 pandemic in the state Monday morning, and several new cases were reported in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.

There were 10 new positive tests for the virus in Dallas County, as well as one in Greene County. The new instances bring the local county totals to 179 in Dallas, 6 in Guthrie, 2 in Greene, and one in Adair. There have been no coronavirus related deaths in the listening area. Additionally, the Dallas County Health Department points out that 46 of the affected individuals in the county have fully recovered. However, Dallas is among the 22 counties included in the Governor’s latest proclamation, extending social distancing restrictions through May 15th.

Statewide, there were 392 new cases Monday, raising the total to 5,868 with 2,021 of those already recovered. There were also nine new deaths reported as complications due to COVID-19, for total of 127 casualties in Iowa. The IDPH also points out that 32,282 negative tests have been conducted.
