A weekend two vehicle head-on collision resulted in minor injuries to two Jefferson residents.

According to Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams, a deputy, an Iowa State Patrol Trooper, Greene County Ambulance and the Jefferson Fire Department responded to the crash at 8:04am Saturday in the 1200 block of 180th Street. Seventy-two-year-old Roger Custer was traveling east on 180th Street in a 1991 Chevrolet K-2500 truck that was hauling a tractor on a trailer. Sixty-six-year-old Thomas Custer was traveling west on 180th Street in a 2011 Chevrolet K-1500 truck. The two vehicles collided head-on on the gravel road, due to the foggy conditions.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were transported by Greene County Ambulance to the Greene County Medical Center. Williams says both vehicles were totalled and the tractor sustained minor damage. He notes both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash and only the 2011 truck had airbags that deployed.
