One of the more crowded races for the June 2nd primary election in Iowa is for the Democratic nomination for United States Senator.
Five candidates are vying for the opportunity to oppose incumbent Senator Joni Ernst, who is running unopposed in the Republican primary, in the November general election. With social distancing mandates related to the COVID-19 pandemic in Iowa, though, the public has had few chances to hear from the candidates themselves in order to make an informed decision. With that in mind, the candidates are taking part in two virtual events tomorrow with a Virtual Rural Forum hosted by Southwest Iowa Democrats from 1-3 p.m., and a Facebook Live Townhall hosted by Pottawattamie Democrats from 5-7 p.m. Democratic nomination hopefuls Michael Franken, Kimberly Graham, Theresa Greenfield, Eddie Mauro, and Cal Woods will each take part.
