
The Iowa Department of Public Health announced Friday that there were 521 new positive tests of COVID-19 in the state, including 32 new cases in Dallas County.
This marks the largest single-day jump in confirmed coronavirus occurrences statewide, as well as in the County. The additional cases bring the total in Dallas County to 99, and 4,445 across Iowa. Additionally, there were 11 more virus-related deaths in the state, bringing that total to 107. The newly-reported casualties include one in Bremer County, three in Black Hawk, four in Linn, two in Polk, and one in Scott. The individuals were mostly over age 61, with one between age 41-60. There have been no deaths in Dallas County or elsewhere in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area due to COVID-19.
The IDPH emphasizes there have been 27,528 negative tests to date, and 1.604 Iowans have fully recovered including 35 in Dallas County. Over 60% of infected individuals in the state have not required hospitalization.
