A water main break Wednesday in Dawson has resulted in the City’s water service being temporarily shut down.

City officials are working to fix the problem and will notify the public and Raccoon Valley Radio when service returns. However, when the water is turned back on there will be an indefinite boil order issued for all residents. A boil order means you are to heat any water to boiling temperature prior to consuming it, to ensure any bacteria in the water is killed. The water will still be safe for bathing and hand washing. Raccoon Valley Radio will update the situation as it develops.
