The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.

The meeting began with approval of a contract renewal of $115,000 for Decat Restorative Justice juvenile court services, followed by approval of the purchase of a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado in the amount of $31,373.10 for the Sheriff’s Office. The Board then approved the bid of $3,480 from Xtreme Tree of DeSoto to remove six trees and grind the stumps at a property located at 1131 Prairie Street in Adel. Next, they tabled action on a professional services contract for the Auditor’s election equipment.

At 9:30 a.m. there was a public hearing continued from last week to review the bid-off auction results for the six vacant Secondary Roads Department Buildings. Operations Director Rob Tietz said the total appraised value of the buildings was $161,500, but through the bid-off process they sold for a total of around $268,000. The Board will consider a resolution to sell the buildings next week. Also related to the Roads Department, they tabled action on a resolution and development agreement related to reclassifying Ute Court as a level “A” road for Legacy Materials, LLC. A public hearing on the action will be scheduled next week.

Other items approved included a contract for $2,340 with Reppert Rigging and Hauling to move the Treasurer’s Department safe to the courthouse, and a 28E agreement for the competitive highway bridge program. Finally, the Board discussed but took no action on a farm lease agreement with Des Moines Area Community College.
