A Perry man was recently sentenced in Greene County District Court to probation for a sexual incident with a minor.

According to court documents, 35-year-old Michael Lee Devilbiss pled guilty to a Class C Felony for sexual exploitation of a minor and a serious misdemeanor for dissemination or exhibition of obscene material to a minor. Devilbiss had a ten year prison sentence suspended for the felony conviction and was placed on probation for three years. Additionally, he was ordered to serve 60 days in the Greene County Jail, with credit for time already served, for the misdemeanor conviction. He must also register as a sex offender. 

The charges stem from an investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office that began on September 11, 2018. Devilbiss was in a relationship when he was 33-years-old and the victim was then 17-years-old. Devilbiss gave the victim a phone to have conversations and send photos, where some of the photos of the victim had no clothes on. 

Devilbiss was ordered to pay over $1,000 in fines, surcharges, court costs and court-appointed attorney fees. There is also a no contact order in place for the victim.
