In the midst of everything that has slowed down due to the coronavirus pandemic, one thing that has progressed is construction. Case in point: Perry Lutheran Homes is getting ready to unveil their new St. Luke’s Private Suites next month.
The project started late last year, and it’s currently being wrapped up. The new suites will accommodate individuals in need of short or long term skilled care and rehabilitative therapy stays. The wing of the Willis Avenue facility used to contain assisted living apartments – with the former occupants moved to the Spring Valley Campus – and PLH officials say the private suites will allow them to offer more focused and specialized care and social programs. The suites include private bathrooms with a shower, as well as a walk-in closet, bed, recliner, side chair, dresser, nightstand, and mounted flat-screen TV.
The St. Luke’s suites will be open in May, and PLH is planning a virtual open-house event prior to their reveal. They are also planning a ribbon cutting ceremony and public open house once people are able to congregate again. As a reminder, both of Perry Lutheran Homes’ facilities are closed to all outside visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic, though the Acorns and Oaks Daycare is still operational.
