The ADM softball and baseball team are continuing to get prepared for their 2020 seasons, but with all of the different things happening with sports in the state of Iowa and beyond, the baseball and softball seasons will be getting started just a little bit later.
The original first day of practices for both sports was supposed to be May 4th, but now have been moved back to May 18th. The new start date for softball and baseball’s pitching and catching is currently May 1. The IHSAA will provide for 10 days of batting practice between May 1 and May 18, giving athletes an opportunity to get prepared, with the first date of competition for both to be the first of June, creating an approximate season length of just a little bit over a month.
Teams will have to adjust to the timeline and it might be changed again when all is set and done, but for now, teams will have to wait until the calendar flips to May before they can take the diamond.
