Schools across the state of Iowa are participating in the “Light Up Iowa” event, one that is encouraged through the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association. The West Central Valley Schools are participating in this unique event on Friday nights, lighting up the school football field in Stuart. At 8:00 on Friday Nights, the ISHADA is encouraging schools to light up their fields and leave the lights on every minute for each day that students have been out of school across the state.
West Central Valley participated in the event last week, and plans to do it these next couple of weeks as well on April 17th and 24th as well. It’s a cool gesture by the school district, and it’s awesome to see schools from across the state come together and do something unique for all of the students that are not in school right now.
