As state and federal officials continue to work on economic stimulus packages due to the COVID-19 pandemic, other entities are working on similar efforts at the local level.

The Perry Chamber of Commerce is in the process of developing a program that they hope will help residents as well as the businesses that have been adversely affected by the coronavirus-related closures. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says nothing is for certain at this point, but the idea is to get Perry Bucks and gift cards into the hands of citizens. “(We’re) still working through logistics and details on what that looks like. Perry Bucks (are) a great opportunity, but also have some challenges; gift cards the same thing. So (we’re) working on how we’re going to do that, when we’re going to roll that out, so more questions still than answers. We’ve got a number of options that we’re still weighing out and seeing what’s going to be the best fit for us, especially on the logistics on how to roll that out so that people can participate, still be safe, and then most importantly our businesses can benefit from it as well. And so definitely more details coming soon on that!”
