The Perry School Board will convene Monday evening in regular session.
The meeting will begin with a public hearing regarding the proposed fiscal year 2021 budget, which will be followed by consideration of approving the budget as presented. During the reports section, Superintendent Clark Wicks will review the Voluntary Educational Enrichment Opportunity plan as it relates to the school’s closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. High School Principal Dan Marburger will also give a presentation on student credit recovery and graduation ceremonies, and Wicks will update the Board on the wrestling/multipurpose room and industrial technology facilities project.
In general business, the Board will consider accepting the abstract from the March 3rd special election on the District’s revenue purpose statement. That will be followed by consideration of the tentative agreement between the District and the Perry Education Association for salaries in the next fiscal year. Other items related to teacher and staff contracts include: pay for duties not related to teaching; salaries for support staff and the staff roster; contracts for special services group personnel and the related roster; and the administration roster and contracts.
Additional items on the agenda include: a professional services agreement with Sitelogiq (formerly Unesco) for the Perry Middle School renovation; an updated pandemic response and emergency suspension of policy; the cancellation of school trips to Minneapolis and St. Louis; revisions to Board policies; and naming the new High School physical education instructor, head football coach, and assistant track coach. The meeting will conclude with a closed session to evaluate the Superintendent.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the high school’s Brady Library. To abide by social distancing orders, the public is encouraged not to attend unless they have pressing business.
