There remains no school in Iowa, and therefore no school-related activities and no sports. Last Monday the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and Iowa High School Athletic Association came out with revised Spring sports practice and competition dates schedule. Those dates are dependent upon schools in Iowa resuming on May 1.

Last Friday the IGHSAU and IHSAA released updated practice and competition dates for baseball and softball. Before the latest memo, Greene County Activities Director Todd Gordon told Raccoon Valley Radio he believed baseball and softball would start later than usual, and the latest information bears that out.

If school resume May 1, the first baseball and softball practices could be held May 18 with June 1 being the first competition dates. The baseball and softball postseason postseason lead-up dates remain July 6-14 for softball and July 9-22 for baseball. The State softball tournament is set for July 20-24 and State baseball is scheduled for July 24-Aug. 1.

The revisions for spring and summer sports remain contingent on school resuming May 1. Raccoon Valley Radio and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com will bring you further updates.
