In a move to help people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, a local foundation recently announced a monetary donation to food pantries around Dallas County and child care centers in Perry.

The Bock Family Foundation announced they are making donations totaling $20,000 to the pantries and daycares. Foundation Manager Scott Finneseth said the Board wanted to do something to help people beyond their community grants given twice a year, and they felt supplementing the resources of food banks and child care centers was a good place to start. They approved donations of $3,000 each to the food pantries in Adel, Dallas Center, Granger, Perry, Stuart, and Waukee. Additionally, donations of $1,000 each will be given to Acorns and Oaks Daycare at Perry Lutheran Homes and the PRESBY Child Care Center at First Presbyterian Church in Perry.

Finneseth said the Foundation is pleased to be able to make the donations to support local people impacted by coronavirus, and they encourage others to follow their example.
