Tuesday, March 24th
1:31am: An officer performed a Traffic Stop at Elm and 220th Street, after witnessing the driver fail to stop at the posted stop sign. During the stop, the officer smelled the pungent odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. During a “Probable Cause Search,” the officer located (2) clear bags of a green leafy substance, scales, and baggies in the vehicle. The items were seized for testing.
9:13am: Terry Becker reported a small stray dog near the bike trail in the 500 Block of West Monroe Street. The officer placed the animal in the Animal Holding Facility.
12:54pm: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Elm Streets resulted in Terri Mims of GA. Being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”
2:54pm: A caller advised of a male throwing a knife at a tree near Cedar and Park Streets. The officer did not locate anyone in the area.
4:34pm: Melinda Millard reported a possible No Contact Order Violation. The officer is investigating.
******** Positive test results came back on items seized from 600 West Washington Street on March 13th , 2020, during a “Consent Search” of the residence. The officer has requested Arrest Warrants for Michelle Ann Cook, 20 of Jefferson for, “Possession of Controlled Substance/Marijuana 1st Offense – Serious and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple.”
******** An officer has requested Arrest Warrants for Emily Ann Chiafos, 32 of Jefferson for, “Criminal Mischief 5th Degree – Simple and Theft 5th Degree – Simple.” The request comes after an officer investigated the city water service being illegally turned back on at 104 East Clark Street.
