The 2019 novel coronavirus continues to spread around Iowa, with nine new cases found in the last 24 hours. Two of those new cases are for people in Dallas County.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, the other counties included in the most recent spread include Johnson, Polk, Washington, and Winneshiek. The new cases bring the total number of known Iowans affected by COVID-19 to 38, including five in Dallas County, though there have been no reported deaths from the virus in the state. Governor Kim Reynolds will hold another press conference Thursday afternoon to discuss the latest steps the State is planning to curb the spread of the illness.
