The West Central Valley Wildcats Track and Field boys and girls teams found out some new news this past week what their state qualifying assignments will be for the upcoming year in the class 2A field. There will be eight different sites that will be sending athletes to the state race, with the sites being Cascade, Western Dubuque, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, Hudson, Manson Northwest Webster, Tipton, Treynor, West Marshall, State Center, and West Sioux, Hawarden.

Each site will be sending 24 athletes to the state meet. These meets are currently set for Thursday, May 14 in all classes for both boys and girls. Qualifiers from these meets advance to the 2020 Iowa High School Track and Field Championships, currently set for May 21-23 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.

Obviously there will be a lot of things coming up in the next month, but one thing that has been clarified for the Wildcats is the state qualifying meets.
