Monday, March 16th

9:50am: The Greene County Community School District requested assistance from the department in returning prescription drugs back to students, since the closing of the school. Officers delivered (3) students’ prescriptions back to parents of the students.

11:00am: An officer performed a Funeral Escort.

11:01am: An officer stopped at 600 West Washington Street to check on a Wanted Subject. No one came to the door at the residence. During the event, the officer smelled the pungent odor of marijuana while knocking on the door of the residence. The officer requested a Search Warrant based on the smell and it was signed by the Magistrate. The officers and deputies executed the Search Warrant at 600 West Washington Street. Nothing was seized during the execution. Officers spotted the wanted male in the area and arrested Dalton Lee Weber, 31 of Jefferson on an outstanding Greene County Arrest Warrant for, “Violation of a Protective Order.”

11:19am: The Greene Bean Coffee Shop, located at 202 North Wilson Ave. reported receiving a Counterfeit $5.00 Bill at the business. The bank caught the fake in a deposit.

3:38pm: A caller advised on an Erratic Driver heading west into Jefferson. The officer was unable to locate the reported vehicle.

4:03pm: Lanny Lewis reported receiving the Social Security card Scam Phone Call. He did not provide the callers any information.

4:46pm: A Traffic Stop in the 400 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Brandon Carstens of Paton being cited for, “Defective Muffler System.”

7:54pm: Lisa Aldrich reported a stray dog bothering her children at 607 West State Street. The owner arrived to take custody of the animal. The officer provided him a time limit to become compliant with City Licensing.

10:32pm: Amanda Carlson reported hearing several loud bangs south of 716 South Locust Street. The officer was unable to locate the source.

10:51pm: an officer was assisted by a deputy at 600 West Washington Street for a reported Disturbance. The officer learned a couple had been at the residence attempting to collect a debt and railing and mailbox had been damaged during the exchange. The officer is investigating.

11:40pm: Dallas County requested assistance from JPD in locating a vehicle that had been involved in a family disturbance in Linden. The male occupant was reported to have a firearm. The vehicle was not located in Jefferson.

11:53pm: A Traffic Stop was performed at Elm and Madison Streets with a vehicle with no headlights activated. The officer could smell alcohol and requested the driver to perform Field Sobriety Testing. The subject passed the officer’s tests and was allowed on their way.
